Bicolour Blenny
Snapshot: Its sleek, elongated body is adorned in a striking blue hue on top and a vibrant orange-yellow below. It has large, bulging eyes, lending it an almost alien-like appearance.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 11cm or so. Native to the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific region. With rows of tiny comb-like teeth, they're also the ultimate algae-stripping machines, tirelessly scrubbing corals and rocks clean.
Bare bones must know: Any tank will do, but this species thrives in setups with plenty of live rock. Thick, sandy substrate.
Aquarium set-up: To replicate its natural habitat, you'll need a tank decked out with scattered rocks for perching and sneaky hideouts and plenty of live rock. And don't forget the sand — essential for satisfying its instinctive behaviors. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine water changes.
Feeding: Serve up a hearty dose of vegetable delights, including frozen and dried treats packed with marine and blue-green algae. And here's the bonus: this little champ doesn't just eat algae, it's also on a mission to keep your tank pristine by munching away at any unwanted growth.
AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
