Clown Tang
Snapshot: Also known as the Clown Surgeonfish or Blue-banded Surgeonfish, this fish is decked out in vibrant blue with blazing orange stripes.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to a whopping 38cm or so! Range extends from East Africa, via the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific region and into the Pacific.
Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, or reef aquarium with care. Spacious size aquarium needed.
Aquarium set-up: This beauty demands a spacious tank for plenty of room to roam, along with top-notch water quality. Create an underwater kingdom that has ample space, plenty of hideouts and territories for every finned ruler! Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.
Feeding: For tangs, algae is king! Load up on algae-based essentials like toasted nori sheets, algae flakes, and pellets. And for a gourmet twist, treat them to frozen brine shrimp enriched with spirulina. It's an algae feast fit for royalty!
