Pacific Sailfin Tang
Snapshot: This beauty has an oval-shaped body that is adorned with bold, striking markings. Rich browns, scattered freckles on the nose, and five vibrant yellow stripes running vertically, each with intricate details.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to a whopping 40cm or so! Range extends to much of the tropical Pacific region, eastwards from South-East Asia and Australia's Great Barrier Reef. Watch as its appearance seems to expand before your eyes, thanks to its impressive dorsal and anal fins.
Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, fish only system, or reef aquarium. Larger size aquarium needed.
Aquarium set-up: To house this beauty, you'll need a spacious tank to accommodate its energetic nature. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.
Feeding: For tangs, algae is king! Load up on algae-based essentials like toasted nori sheets, algae flakes, and pellets. And for a gourmet twist, treat them to frozen brine shrimp enriched with spirulina. It's an algae feast fit for royalty!
