Flameback Angelfish

Flameback Angelfish

Snapshot: This stunner is a vibrant clash of electric blue and fiery orange-yellow hues. Its predominantly blue body is electrified by a bold, sunburst streak of orange-to-yellow that blazes from its head, and ignites the tip of the dorsal fin.

Other tidbits: Can grow up to 8cm or so! Native to the tropical waters of the East and West Indian Oceans.

Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, or reef aquarium with care.

  • Aquarium set-up: This dynamo thrives in a well-run, underwater haven. Deck out its pad with plenty of nooks, crannies, and live rock smorgasbords where it can snack on algae to its heart’s content. When first settling in, this little firecracker loves having secret hideouts to chill in before it gets comfortable strutting its stuff around the tank! Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.

Feeding: Angelfish are omnivorous champs. Keep 'em happy with a smorgasbord of high-quality marine flakes, nutrient-rich algae like nori, live treats, and frozen crustaceans like brine or mysis shrimp, and top-notch frozen blends.

AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
