Golden Midas Blenny
Snapshot: Radiant in deep golden-yellow hues with a hint of blue under the chin and striking blue-rimmed eyes.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 13cm or so. Native to the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific region. It's a pro mimic, often swimming alongside lyretail anthias in open water. Its swimming style is eel-like, adding to its allure.
Bare bones must know: Any aquarium will do, but this species thrives where there's plenty of live-rock and swimming space.
Aquarium set-up: To replicate its natural habitat, you'll need a tank decked out with scattered rocks for perching and sneaky hideouts. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.
Feeding: Unlike its blenny counterparts, the Midas Blenny demands a meaty feast. Serve up finely chopped crustacean flesh, mysis, and brine shrimp, alongside frozen herbivore treats, and a mix of micro and blue-green algae.
AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
