Mystery Wrasse
Snapshot: Also known as the Whitebarred or Fivebarred Wrasse. It sports a vibrant palette of yellow, blue, and purple hues.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 12cm or so. Native to the tropical waters of the Central Western Pacific including the Great Barrier Reef. A younger Mystery Wrasse's color can morph from green to red in the aquarium.
Bare bones must know: Best suited to reef aquariums with plenty of live rock. Thick, sandy substrate.
Aquarium set-up: You'll need lots of space, decked out with ample live rock for hideouts and hunting. They're on a constant hunt for copepods and love to scour live rock. Wrasses love their comfort— give them a cozy fine sandbed to burrow into when they need a snooze or sense trouble. And don't forget a secure lid — they're jumpers! Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.
Feeding: Keep your Wrasse in top form with a gourmet diet of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis and brine shrimp, alongside high-quality marine flakes and pellets.
AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
