Pastel Ring Wrasse
Snapshot: Also known as the Candy Cane Wrasse. Juveniles flaunt silver-white bodies with fiery red stripes, earning them the nickname Candy Cane Wrasse. Adolescents rock a light blue hue with bold yellow stripes, while their faces transform into lush green with delicate red lines around the eyes.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 30cm or so (fully grown males). Range extends from the Red Sea to South Africa, across to Japan, and south to Australia and the Great Barrier Reef.
Bare bones must know: Live rock fish-only system, or fish-only system. Larger sized aquarium needed to cater for its growth. Thick, sandy substrate.
Aquarium conditions: You'll need a massive tank to accommodate them as they expand. And don't forget the lid — these acrobats are known to make daring leaps from open aquariums! Wrasses love their comfort — give them a cozy fine sandbed to burrow into when they need a snooze or sense trouble.Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.
Feeding: Keep your Wrasse in top form with a gourmet diet of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis and brine shrimp, alongside high-quality marine flakes and pellets.
AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
