Queen Coris Wrasse
Snapshot: As a juvenile, it flaunts a bold orange body with white tiger stripes edged in black. Females mature into a blue-green beauty with black spots, red fins, and a light-blue slash across an orange face. Males shine in light blue with bold blue stripes and green accents.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to a whopping 60cm or so! Distributed throughout the East Indian Ocean, West Indian Ocean, Australia, and Indonesia.
Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, or fish-only system.
Aquarium set-up: This top-tier hunter doesn’t mess around—it’ll flip every rock, dig through every nook, and stop at nothing to snag its next meal. So lock those rocks down tight—this fish plays rough, and you don’t want a landslide in your tank! Wrasses love their comfort — give this one a deep cozy fine sandbed to burrow into when they need a snooze or sense trouble. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.
Feeding: Keep your Wrasse in top form with a gourmet diet of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis and brine shrimp, alongside high-quality marine flakes and pellets.
AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
