Snapshot: This majesty has a striking bluish-grey hue adorned with yellow-brown spots. Its crowned by a distinctive white ring at the base of its tail.

 

Other tidbits: Can grow up to 18cm or so. Native to the East Indian Ocean, West Indian Ocean, Australia, Japan and Indonesia. Watch as its colors dance, depending on its mood, from deep black to sun-kissed brown, accented with vibrant hues of orange and yellow.

 

Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, or reef aquarium with plenty of live rock.

  • Aquarium set-up: Introduce them to well established tanks adorned with abundant live rock, perfect for their algae-grazing adventures. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.

    Feeding: For tangs, algae is king! Load up on algae-based essentials like toasted nori sheets, algae flakes, and pellets. And for a gourmet twist, treat them to frozen brine shrimp enriched with spirulina. It's an algae feast fit for royalty!
