Schooling Bannerfish
Snapshot: With a sleek, flattened body, its dorsal fin rays stretch into elegant white filaments. Its canvas: a pristine white, etched with bold black diagonal bands. Past the second stripe, bursts of yellow adorn the dorsal, caudal, and pectoral fins.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 21cm or so. Widespread across the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific region and the Red Sea.
Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, fish-only system, or reef aquarium with care.
Aquarium set-up: These beauties are avid swimmers, craving ample space to glide. In your aquarium, space isn't a luxury — it's a necessity for their joy. Set the stage with hiding spots aplenty to give them the sanctuary they crave to feel safe and secure. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.
Feeding: Their natural diet consists of zooplankton. In the absence of this in your tank, serve up a feast of meaty treats, marine flakes, and pellets to keep them satisfied and thriving.
AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
