Singapore Angelfish

Singapore Angelfish

Snapshot: Also known as the Vermiculated Angelfish. This beautiy has electric blue lips. Its yellow nose gives way to a bold black mask over its eyes. A deep black body contrasts with sapphire-trimmed fins, while its tail pops in yellow or moody gray.

Other tidbits: Can grow up to 18cm or so! Distributed throughout the East Indian Ocean. Likes to eat tubeworms.

Bare bones must know: Live rock, fish only system or reef aquarium with care. Top notch water quality required. Well established and mature aquariums only.

  • Aquarium set-up: Give this fish a chill pad with peaceful neighbors, plenty of hideaways, and a rock buffet to munch on. Just watch out — this rebel has a taste for coral, clam mantles, and a side of algae. It fish might play hard to get with food at first. Give it a week, and it’ll usually come around, so having lots of algae in the tank definitely helps. This fish also lives to cruise! Give it a spacious tank with plenty of room to glide, and it'll strut its fins like an underwater rockstar. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.

Feeding: Angelfish are omnivorous champs. Keep 'em happy with a smorgasbord of high-quality marine flakes, nutrient-rich algae like nori, live treats, and frozen crustaceans like brine or mysis shrimp, and top-notch frozen blends.

AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
