Grown-up Six Bar Angelfish flaunt a golden-brown body studded with vibrant blue spots. On their sides, six bold vertical bands steal the show: a crisp white one near the head, followed by five striking black ones.

Other tidbits: Can grow up to a whopping 46cm or so! Native to the waters surrounding Sri Lanka, through to the Maldives, Southern Japan, Palau, the Solomons and Australia.

Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, fish-only system, or reef aquarium with care. Spacious size aquarium needed with plenty of live rock.

  • Aquarium set-up: This big boy needs space, you'll need a beast of a tank. Fill it up with plenty of live rock. Angelfish crave cozy hideouts for safety and snoozing. Create their secret sanctuaries in your tank for peace of mind and happy fish. That's the recipe for a top-notch habitat for this majestic creature. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.

Feeding: Angelfish are omnivorous champs. Keep 'em happy with a smorgasbord of high-quality marine flakes, nutrient-rich algae like nori, live treats, and frozen crustaceans like brine or mysis shrimp, and top-notch frozen blends.

AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
