Sunset Wrasse

Sunset Wrasse

Snapshot: As it matures, this beauty sports a vibrant yellow hue (if female) or a striking blue (if male), adorned with green facial markings and fine vertical stripes. With fins that are a riot of color, it's a feast for the eyes!

Other tidbits: Can grow up to 13cm or so. Native to the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific region.

Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish only system. Thick, sandy substrate.

  • Aquarium set-up: This lively character demands a tank on the larger side, with equally feisty tank mates. Give it plenty of live rocks to hide among and a snug lid to keep it contained — trust us, it's a jumper! Wrasses love their comfort — give them a cozy fine sandbed to burrow into when they need a snooze or sense trouble. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.

Feeding: Keep your Wrasse in top form with a gourmet diet of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis and brine shrimp, alongside high-quality marine flakes and pellets..

AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
