Bristletooth Tomini Tang

Bristletooth Tomini Tang

Snapshot: As a juvenile, it's a tan canvas splashed with yellow, blue, and white. As it matures, it body colour solidifies with a blue tail, and dorsal and anal fins dipped in gold. Golden flecks dance above the eyes, while a gleaming half-circle adorns its underside.

Other tidbits: Can grow up to 13cm or so. Native to tropical waters of the Western and Central Pacific Ocean from Indonesia to the Solomons and Palau.

Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish only system, or reef aquarium. Top-notch water quality.

  • Aquarium set-up: Create a fortress of rocks and corals at the tank's base — these fishy friends need a hideout and chill zone too! Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.

Feeding: For tangs, algae is king! Load up on algae-based essentials like toasted nori sheets, algae flakes, and pellets. And for a gourmet twist, treat them to frozen brine shrimp enriched with spirulina. It's an algae feast fit for royalty!

AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
