White Cap Clownfish

Snapshot: This hybrid clownfish species boasts a distinctive white 'teardrop' on its forehead and a striking white bar behind the eye. With body hues ranging from apricot to rich brownish-orange, it's a true gem for enthusiasts.

 

Other tidbits: Can grow up to 10 or so. Range extends throughout the tropical waters of the Western Central Pacific Ocean including around the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.

 

Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, fish-only system, or reef aquarium. Best bought as a mated pair (male and female). Needs anemone for symbiosis.

  • Aquarium set-up: They flourish in tanks teeming with live rock hideouts. They need a welcoming host anemone for symbiotic bliss. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.

    Feeding: Offer a diverse menu, mysis and brine shrimp, high-quality flakes, and algae-based pellets.
