Yellow Candy Hogfish

Yellow Candy Hogfish

Snapshot: Also known as the Two-Spot Hogfish or Yellow Hogfish. This fish shines bright yellow, rocking faint red racing stripes and two bold black spots — one behind the eye and another near the tail.

Other tidbits: Can grow up to 10cm or so. Distributed throughout the East Indian Ocean, West Indian Ocean, Australia, Indonesia, Central/West Pacific.

Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, or reef aquarium with care.

  • Aquarium set-up: Set up loads of live rock structures for hiding and exploring. Create caves, crevices, and overhangs for hogfish retreats. Leave room for them to roam freely amidst the rocks. Strike a balance between hiding spots and open water for their happiness. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.

Feeding: Keep your Wrasse in top form with a gourmet diet of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis and brine shrimp, alongside high-quality marine flakes and pellets.

AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
